Podcast Invitation

Wayne Woodthorpe

Founder of the Inner Council workshops, therapy techniques and training pathways.

Since childhood, when an ancestral and Hermetic stream first opened in me, I have been drawn toward whatever lies just behind the visible world. That early awakening became a lifelong search, a 30-year journey through extraordinary landscapes and cultural thresholds across the planet. Along the way, I’ve followed ancestral threads, listened for the intelligence inside myth, and gathered the teachings that belong to the perennial common sense of the human soul.

My work now centres on preparing individuals for compassionate transformation, helping them step into a safer inner container where healing, clarity, and relationship to the deeper self can naturally unfold. I spend my days tracking ideas that make us more human, more present, and more capable of holding one another through the changes of our time.

I welcome any conversation that invites us to think together, collaborate, wonder, and imagine the next generation of our humanity into being. High-strangeness has touched my life more than once, and I carry those experiences as part of my toolkit—so there is hardly a topic I can’t meet with a story, a perspective, or a piece of hard-won insight. If your work moves toward wholeness, depth, or the untold layers of reality, then we already share a path.

Subjects

My work explores the Inner Child as the integral witness, the mythical components that bring integration and the rites of passage modern culture has forgotten. I weave together Gebser’s transparency, Hermetic imagination, trauma integration, attachment theory, ancestral healing, and the strange ways soul returns to itself.

Much of my current work centres on preparing parents for parenthood, offering couples and families the tools to ground, bond and build the emotional ecology their children will grow within. I believe that this inner ecology begins at home, and that every family deserves a culture of safety, clarity and connection long before a child arrives.

Whether we talk about sovereignty, plant medicine, intuition, the awakening child, or the architecture of consciousness, my intention is always the same:
to help people remember the deeper self they have never lost.

The Inner Council acts as a Comprehensive Multi-generational Human Development System, from pre-birth to adult integration.

Curiosity and Consciousness podcast by Karen Maloney

This podcast episode explores inner child work as a precise gateway into deeper psychological and spiritual integration. Wayne explains how our emotional “imprint” from conception to around age seven sets the template for how we meet our needs and navigate life. When core needs like security, love, affection, attention, support, nurturing, approval and fun are not fully met, we create surrogate strategies that later show up as triggers, addictions, compensations and chronic dissatisfaction.

Wayne describes the inner child as an abandoned but still-innocent essence that “knows our future” and holds our original orientation to life. His work focuses on building a real, ongoing relationship with this inner child using clear inner “etiquette,” then following the child into regressions that reveal missing information in old memories. As those needs are finally met in imaginal space, emotional charge clears, victimhood loosens and a new, more objective self-perspective emerges.

Inner child work, in his frame, is less a one-off visualization and more an ongoing mentorship that restores trust, softens the nervous system, opens intuitive guidance and even supports ancestral healing. Once integrated, the inner child becomes an inner guide for self-authority and creative authorship.
