Lus Hernandez
Hello there, my name is Lus.
I have provided therapy services to an array of individuals ranging from pediatric to the geriatric population in a 10-year span. My work has primarily been delivered outpatient; mental health clinic, hospice, home visits and telehealth. Always considering their background, I guide individuals from a person-centered approach to find solutions to their problems when experiencing difficulty managing emotions such as those that come with depression and anxiety. I help individuals work through major life transitions (newly married, becoming a parent, empty nester, starting school, grief, becoming ill, divorce, etc.) getting to the root of the problem and developing cognitive behavioral techniques that will get then back to stability.
I hold clinical social work (LCSW) licenses in the states of California, Texas and New Mexico. I love helping adults of all ages navigate through the different stages of life. I am open-minded, creative when problem-solving, confident in my ability to help others and humorous when appropriate.
I strongly believe our childhood experience (whether it is positive or negative) shapes us into the adults we become. Therefore, as a child we are first exposed to the environment, then it becomes part of us and soon we start presenting behaviors that align with the experience. In my work with a diverse population throughout the years I have found that although everyone’s experience is unique it always goes back to their childhood experience at one or more levels. The most rewarding revelation my inner child has guided me to believe the confirmation of how consistency and determination are the solution to healing.
I offer sessions in English and Spanish.
